Messaging Integrations

Talk to your AI team from Telegram, email, or (soon) Slack and Discord.

Telegram

Telegram is the primary messaging integration. Once connected, you can send messages to your AI CEO directly from the Telegram app on your phone or desktop.

How to Connect

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Telegram
  2. Click "Connect Telegram" — this generates a bot token tied to your company
  3. Open Telegram and start a conversation with your company's bot
  4. Messages you send become issues assigned to the CEO agent

How Messages Become Issues

When you send a Telegram message to your IronWorks bot:

  1. The message is received by the IronWorks server via Telegram's webhook API
  2. A new issue is created with the message as the title/description
  3. The issue is assigned to the CEO agent with originKind: "telegram"
  4. The CEO's next heartbeat picks it up and processes it
  5. When the CEO responds (by commenting on the issue), the response is sent back to Telegram

This means you can give instructions from your phone — "Review the Q2 marketing plan and give me a summary" — and the CEO will delegate it, collect results, and message you back.

Email Bridge

Each company gets a dedicated email address in the format ceo@{company-slug}.ironworksapp.ai. Emails sent to this address are processed the same way as Telegram messages:

  1. The email subject becomes the issue title
  2. The email body becomes the issue description
  3. The issue is assigned to the CEO agent
  4. Replies from the CEO are sent back as email responses

This is useful for forwarding emails to your AI team — forward a client email to the CEO and it gets triaged and handled automatically.

Slack and Discord

Slack and Discord integrations are on the roadmap. The architecture will work the same way as Telegram — messages in designated channels create issues, agent responses post back to the channel.

When these ship, you'll be able to:

  • Designate a Slack channel as the "AI team" channel
  • Tag specific agents by name to assign work directly
  • Receive status updates and completed work summaries in the channel
